Colouring Competition
Wellington Motors would like to say a big thank you to all the children who submitted their colouring entries into the Walter Wellington Colouring Competition.
The judges had a hard time picking the winning entries but were finally able to decide on the two winners:
Reuben Walter age 4, won the Under 6 category and Tyler Campbell age 9, won the 6-11 years old category.
Both Reuben and Tyler came into the Wellington Motors showroom to pick up their prizes, a very cute Steiff Bear each. Well done Reuben and Tyler from all of the Wellington Motors team.
Walter started work as an apprentice at Wellington Motors earning £5,000.00 per year. With this level of annual income, he thought he needed to become a tax exile and so started to look for an exotic destination to live abroad. He Googled "sunny, southern islands" and discovered the Isle of Wight. This seemed perfect as he would need to travel on a ferry to get there which was very exciting.
When he arrived on "The Island", he was pleasantly surprised to find that it seemed very English - if a bit dated at times - and he could just about understand the locals. He stayed in the Swiss Chalet at Osborne House which he thought provided very stately, comfortable, self-catering accommodation at just the right size - and well suited to his "Tax Exile" status with a hint of royalty. However, he could not understand why the "hotel" was so busy during the day and nobody seemed to stay at night. (He thought the standard of accommodation was very good.)
In the spirit of wanting to support the community, he set up a language school teaching English as a foreign language and achieved a high level of success. He thought his students were very bright - they picked up the language very quickly. (Privately, he sometimes mused that it might be because he was a naturally gifted and talented teacher.)
However, after a few years, he began to pine for the comforts of home (Wellington Boots, Beef Wellington) - and it did rain quite a lot. So he decided to return to his roots in Wellington and contribute as much as he could to the local community.
Walter hopes to work with both children and adults. He very much wants to become involved in raising money for the Children's hospice and plans to run colouring and creative writing competitions for children. For adults, he aspires to write a monthly column in the local paper providing advice and commentary on a diverse range of topics - from motoring topics to the World Cup.
Walter can be spotted driving around the Taunton and Wellington area and will frequently be available in the showroom as a "Customer Care Ambassador". He will also have a busy social calendar appearing at local schools, sporting events, county shows and car launches. Walter is very excited about his new role and making it as successful as his language school.
