Jo Langton from Wellington Motor Group said: “ We are so so proud to be a part of such an amazing charity Go Commando does so many great things for so many families! We are just grateful to be a part of it! I hope they enjoy the Nissan Juke as much as we know they will.

The Nissan Juke is one of the latest models to come out of Britain’s very own Nissan factory in Sunderland. Part rugged SUV, part funky sports car, Juke is a ground-breaking compact crossover providing buyers with a stylish alternative to the conventional urban hatchback.  Available in three engine sizes and nine colours, the Juke boasts a distinctive body, raised ride height and the option of four-wheel drive.

With seating for five and a rear bench that splits and folds flat, plus a hatchback boot with hidden storage space, the Juke is both roomy and practical. And for owners who like to put their own stamp on their car, a full range of accessories has been developed to personalise Juke.

Wellington Motor Group represents Nissan and Renault and has new and used cars, fleet hire and Motability services to suit your requirements.

Our group used car stock totals over 400 vehicles hence we are confident we just may have the vehicle you have been looking for!

WHO ARE GO COMMANDO?

Go Commando supports The Royal Marine Family. We are a new charity, founded in response to the overwhelming community support in Taunton for the Marines at 40 Commando during their 2010 Afghanistan deployment. Go Commando works closely with the Norton Manor Camp, based on the outskirts of Taunton town, the home of 40 Commando, to ensure the best support is provided to the Marines and their families.

40 Commando had a gruelling tour in Helmand Province with the tragic loss of 14 Marines. Within three months of their return to work at base, Easter leave was cancelled and deployments to the Gulf commenced.  This busy tempo is reflected across the Royal Marine units nationwide and Go Commando’s objectives encompass the provision of help and support to all families who have to cope when units are deployed and loved ones are away for months on end.

The team at Go Commando consists of an active board of Trustees who have a wealth of experience in their chosen fields, most coming from the legal, accountancy and military welfare professions. Most have an understanding and passionate connection to the Royal Marines through either having been an active serving Marine or married to a current member 40 Commando. The founder of the charity Sean O’Brien, plays a vital role at the helm, as Chairman of the Trustees and is supported by Debbie Tyler-Davis, whose background is Public Relations and Event Management.  We all give our time and efforts voluntarily to enable the charity to grow and become established. We are extremely fortunate to have Kirianne Curley as our Patron. Kirianne needs no introduction as her position is well documented in the media and she brings with her an inner strength and understanding for other wives and families who have also lost a loved one in service. Her husband Stephen was one of the 14 Marines who tragically lost his life last summer

HOW GO COMMANDO HELP:

The charity aims to engage local communities and business to respond to the ever increasing demands being placed upon those who serve. The charity is working on large scale projects to improve childcare, sport and leisure facilities and a support network for wives at home and a Families’ Centre on camp.  There are family events planned throughout the year as well as a commitment to help those individuals who most need assistance.  To date, Go Commando has raised 70k which is a fantastic start but there is a long way to go for us to reach our goal to be in a position to fulfil all of our promises of support to the Marine families.  If we are unable to help, we will find someone who can!

Go Commando works closely with the unit Welfare offices, The Royal British Legion and The Royal Marine Charitable Trust Fund (RMCTF).

GO COMMANDO WILL NEVER FORGET:

The families of those killed in action are still an integral part of the wider Royal Marines family and Go Commando supports them. We aim to create Child Trust funds for the future and will always include these families in our activities.

HOW YOU CAN HELP GO COMMANDO:

The only obstacle we face is raising money. With your help we can overcome this and ensure that together we continue to achieve our objectives.  We are have revamped our website. We will then have an up to date platform where all news and information can be found, together with a diary of all forthcoming events that Go Commando will be attending and anything else that we are doing to raise funds. Keep an eye out for this at www.gocommando.org.uk, our new site will be launched at the beginning of July.  Our first big fund raising exercise was the ‘Royal Marines of 40 Commando’ calendar 2011. This attracted media attention from far and wide including coverage from TV and radio.  It was an idea put together and shot within a week and sold through Debenhams stores across the country, a 2012 calendar is already in the pipeline.  We recently held a great Family Fun Day at Norton Manor Camp for Marine families and an Easter Egg Hunt for the children. Our thanks go to the personnel at camp for their help.

Stop Press : !!! Go Commando have now extended their arm to 42 Commando, based in Plymouth. Watch the press for future events and fundraising activities.
