New Nissan Leaf South West
The Future is here..........................
Local Motor Group Wellington Motors has been officially appointed as the Nissan Electric Vehicle Specialist (EV) for Somerset, Devon and Cornwall. Their territory stretches from Cardiff to Cornwall and they were awarded the EV franchise as a result of the high Customer Service score delivered at both of their Nissan branches, Wellington Motors between Wellington and Taunton and JFE Exeter Nissan on the Marsh Barton Motor Park in Exeter.
The all New Nissan Leaf has taken the motoring world by storm winning the coveted European Car of the Year.
Group Sales Director Matthew Holcombe is delighted with the vehicles initial launch “We were quite amazed at the attendance at the vehicle launch in our Exeter showroom. The clients who turned up were all very conscious of environmental issues but also loved the incredibly advanced technology on the Nissan Leaf. After experiencing the car, the response to the financing package specifically created for the Nissan Leaf was great. Not only is the Nissan Leaf boasting technology that other manufacturers can only dream about, it delivers zero emissions at the exhaust pipe and due to it’s high residual value can cost as little as £399 per month including 3 year servicing plus the low cost electricity utilised“
The first wave of Nissan EV specialists total 24, with JFE Exeter being appointed right at the very start of the process. The South West is seen as a very environmentally conscious part of the UK and Taunton has lead the way in green motoring with the building of 4 charging points at the park and ride at Henlade.
The Wellington Motor Group have also just delivered 6 New Nissan Leafs to Cornwall District Council and hope this will be the start of the change required to convert traditional motorists to the benefits of electric power.
Group Managing Director Michael Finn, a self confessed petrol head added: “The Leaf took us all by surprise in that it performs and handles incredibly. The acceleration is equivalent to a 2.5 V6 petrol engine and it is astonishing fun to drive. Without doubt the technology is mind blowing but once you drive the car you realise there are no concessions being made with regards to either performance of drivability. The reaction from traditional car enthusiasts has also been very encouraging especially once they take a drive. This is only the start and already we have seen the Nissan Esflow Supercar presented at the Geneva motorshow which can achieve a 0 to 62mph time of less than 5 seconds. Quick enough to keep everyone happy!“
